Few experiences are as rewarding as a leisurely stroll along the promenade of Spain's beautiful coastal towns. Undoubtedly, these are the best places to immerse yourself in the marine environment and let yourself be enveloped by the intoxicating sound of the waves. Kilometers of road await you to explore the main spectacles that take place in them, and where, at every step, you will discover landscapes worthy of treasuring in the memory. But what excites us most is that, next to these walks, you will find a Parador ideal for resting, enjoying the local gastronomy and, of course, having a great time.

Walking in front of an amazing burst of color in Tenerife

The promenade of Costa Adeje in Tenerife is simply amazing. Perhaps its most captivating stretch is the one that its visitors have affectionately christened "paseo de los geranios" (geranium promenade). When you set foot there, you are greeted by a vibrant explosion of colors, thanks to the abundant vegetation that adorns the surroundings. Along its six kilometers, the path crosses some of Tenerife's most unique beaches, particularly Playa del Duque, famous for its grayish-colored sand. It even reaches the viewpoint of La Caleta, a place from where you can contemplate unbeatable views of the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean and the island of La Gomera.

Only 50 minutes away and at an altitude of 2,000 meters, the Parador de Las Cañadas del Teide awaits you. It is a mountain mansion surrounded by wild nature. If you are looking to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Canarian landscape, the Parador is a good starting point, as it is part of the Teide National Park, a place inhabited by the most representative flora and fauna of the island. In the evenings, it is mandatory, enjoy a well-deserved snack on the terrace, while watching the amazing blanket of stars that is drawn in its clean sky

In the Biscayan municipality of Getxo lies the charming Paseo del Puerto Antiguo de Algorta. Everything around it invites contemplation: the picturesque colorful fishermen's houses, the majestic staircases and the breathtaking views dominated by the local beaches and towering cliffs. In the summer season, the avenue comes to life. It is common to find tourists in every corner enjoying some delicious pintxos, and it is here, some of the best taverns to immerse yourself in the Basque gastronomy. During these days, the traditional marmitako contest and the fun Pajama Day are organized, where the whole town dresses up in their sleeping clothes to enjoy the scheduled activities.

There is nothing like enjoying this experience at the Parador de Argómaniz. This old Renaissance palace is located in the middle of a perfect landscape to disconnect, surrounded by gardens and facing the Gorbea mountain range. The Roman, Christian, Muslim, Jewish and even French troops have passed through the site of this mansion. In fact, it is said that Napoleon Bonaparte locked himself in here to plan the assault on Vitoria. Its restaurant, Aletegui, is one of the most special places, as it preserves an original coffered ceiling from the 18th century and is an essential place to enjoy local dishes such as oxtail au gratin with Idiazabal cheese.

Europe's longest promenade is in Spain

The promenade of A Coruña, with its impressive 13 kilometers, is the longest in Europe. Along the way, you can discover various works of cultural interest, such as the Tower of Hercules, the oldest working Roman lighthouse in the world; the Celtic Park, full of menhirs symbolizing a family; and the Rose of the Winds, a mosaic 25 meters in diameter with eight needles pointing to the cardinal points and representing the Celtic nations. In addition, the path borders some of the most popular Galician beaches, for example, Riazor, Orzán, Lapas and das Amorosas.

Planning this getaway, staying at the Parador de Ferrol, will make it even more special. We are facing a beautiful mansion, located in the historic district of La Magdalena. Its restaurant worships the seafaring tradition of the city, so it is essential to delight with seafood, in particular, the octopus at the fair or zamburiñas a la gallega. After this feast, there is nothing like strolling through the historic center of La Magdalena to discover the impressive stately homes of the bourgeoisie and understand why it has been declared a historic-artistic site.
