We invite you to discover the most frequently visited Paradores of the year, each with its own magic and charm. Get ready to immerse yourself in places that have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who have visited us.

In 2024, we have had the pleasure of welcoming thousands of visitors to our Paradores, customers from all over the world, who have enjoyed their stay and have lived incredible experiences. Because a Parador is not just a hotel, it is a unique and unforgettable experience. From vibrant coastlines to mountainous landscapes, our Paradores have captured the imagination of travellers from all over the world.

 

1. Parador de Málaga Gibralfaro

 

Malaga is always one of the most popular destinations in Spain, its good climate and gastronomy make tourists to enjoy the city at any time of the year.

The Parador de Málaga Gibralfaro is a truly unique hotel, set in a location with a rich history and unrivalled views. Situated atop Mount Gibralfaro, this Parador is located within the grounds of the ancient Gibralfaro Castle, a fortress built in the 14th century to protect the nearby Alcazaba and provide accommodation for troops.

One of the Parador's greatest attractions is its terrace, which offers spectacular panoramic views of the city of Malaga, the port and the blue Mediterranean Sea.

The restaurant is another highlight. It serves a delicious selection of Andalusian specialities, including fresh fish and seafood dishes, as well as other traditional recipes that capture the authentic flavours of the region.

In addition, the hotel's location is perfect for exploring the vibrant city of Malaga. Within walking distance you will find emblematic sites such as the Picasso Museum, Malaga Cathedral, the Roman Theatre and the Alcazaba.

2. Parador de Costa da Morte

 

Galicia attracts tourists for its natural beauty, its cultural heritage, its gastronomy, its traditional festivals and the hospitality of its inhabitants. It is a perfect destination to relax and enjoy the cultural and natural wealth of the region.

The Parador de Costa da Morte is a stunning hotel located in Muxía, Galicia, near Cape Finisterre, known as the "end of the world" in ancient times.

This Parador stands out for its unique location, carved into a hill and perfectly integrated with the green and wild landscape of the Galician coast. From any point of the Parador, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, with its glass-walled infinity pool being one of the most spectacular places to gaze on the natural beauty of the region.

3. Parador de Ronda

 

Andalusia is known for its rich culture, vibrant history and varied landscapes, from golden beaches to majestic mountain ranges. Flamenco music, bullfighting, fiestas and delicious gastronomy are all part of its undeniable charm.

Ronda, in the heart of Andalusia, is one of the most picturesque and fascinating cities. It sits in a deep gorge known as El Tajo, which divides the city in two and offers breathtaking views. It is famous for its historic bridges, especially the Puente Nuevo, and its bullring, one of the oldest and most prestigious in Spain. It also has cobbled streets, palaces and gardens, which invite you to lose yourself in its history and beauty.

The Parador de Ronda is located in a building that was once the city's old town hall, right next to the Puente Nuevo bridge, providing an unrivalled view of the gorge and the surrounding landscape. Its restaurant offers traditional Andalusian dishes, allowing visitors to enjoy local cuisine while taking in the panoramic views.

Tourists love to visit Andalusia, and in particular Ronda and the Parador, for its history and culture, a mixture of Moorish and Christian influences in the architecture and historical sites.

 

4. Parador de Granada

 

Granada is one of Spain's tourist gems, and there are several reasons why it attracts so many visitors from all over the world.

The Alhambra, a majestic palace and fortress, is one of the most visited monuments in Europe, with its gardens, courtyards and unique architecture, a testament to Spain's rich Moorish heritage. The Generalife gardens, adjacent to the Alhambra, are equally impressive with their fountains, exotic plants and panoramic views of Granada. The Albaicín, an ancient Moorish quarter with cobbled streets and white houses, offers an authentic experience and spectacular views of the Alhambra.

Granada is also a centre of Andalusian culture, including flamenco, which can be enjoyed in the city's numerous flamenco tablaos and caves. The University of Granada, one of the oldest and most prestigious in Spain, brings a youthful and vibrant atmosphere to the city, while gastronomy and tapas, served free with drinks in many bars, offer a delicious way to sample the local cuisine.

The Parador de Granada, located within the grounds of the Alhambra, is a unique place to stay. This Parador is located in the former convent of San Francisco, a historic building that has been carefully restored. Staying inside the Alhambra is an unrivalled experience, allowing guests to enjoy this historic site after the crowds have left, with spectacular views of the gardens and the city of Granada from many rooms and common areas of the Parador.

It preserves original architectural elements of the convent, combining them with all modern comforts, and its restaurant offers excellent Andalusian cuisine in a historic setting.

5. Parador de Las Cañadas del Teide

 

Tenerife is an island that attracts tourists from Spain and abroad due to its diversity of attractions and pleasant climate all year round. Visitors can enjoy its stunning beaches, natural parks such as the Teide National Park, and rich local culture. Teide, Europe's highest volcano, is a popular destination for nature and adventure lovers, offering hiking trails and spectacular views.

The Parador de las Cañadas del Teide is located in the heart of the Teide National Park, at an altitude of over 2,000 metres above sea level. This Parador is an example of sustainability, generating its own electricity and obtaining water from the mountain. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of Teide from the rooms and the restaurant, which offers traditional Canarian cuisine. In addition, the Parador has an astronomical observatory, indoor swimming pool, gym and a lounge with a fireplace for cooler evenings.

It is an ideal option to enjoy the island from a superb location.

 

6. Parador de Lleida

 

Lleida, known as the "City of Poets", is a city with a rich history and a vibrant culture. Located in Catalonia, Lleida offers a mix of historical heritage, natural spaces and unique gastronomy.

Visitors can explore the ancient Romanesque-Gothic cathedral of La Seu Vella, which offers panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. The old town is also home to the Plaza de Paería, the Seu Nova and the Casino Principal.

The Parador de Lleida is housed in a former 17th century convent, right in the heart of the historic centre of the city. The rooms are distributed around a beautiful three-storey central cloister that leads to the church, now converted into a restaurant.

The Parador's restaurant, L'Aplec, is dedicated to inland Catalan cuisine, offering traditional recipes brought up to date.

7. Parador de Jaén

 

Jaén is a city rich in history and culture. It is known as the "Olive Oil Capital of the World" due to its extensive production of high-quality olive oil. The city offers numerous tourist attractions, such as Jaén Cathedral, a jewel of the Spanish Renaissance, and the Arab Baths, which are the best preserved in Europe. In addition, Jaén boasts impressive fortresses and castles, such as the Castle of Santa Catalina, which offers panoramic views of the city and the surrounding olive groves.

The Parador de Jaén is located in an imposing 13th century Moorish castle, perched atop the Cerro de Santa Catalina. This Parador offers a unique experience by combining the majesty of an ancient castle with modern comforts. From the Parador, guests can enjoy spectacular views of the city of Jaén and the vast olive groves.

The Parador's restaurant offers an excellent selection of Andalusian dishes, allowing visitors to enjoy the rich local gastronomy in a historic setting. It also has a swimming pool, gardens and several common areas where guests can relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the place.

Although it is a year-round destination, spring and autumn are the busiest times of year as temperatures are milder and there is less tourism.

 

8. Parador de Cruz de Tejeda

 

Gran Canaria is a fascinating island known for its diversity of landscapes, from golden sandy beaches to spectacular mountains. Some of the island's main tourist attractions include Las Canteras Beach, famous for its vibrant atmosphere and its crib of sand and light at Christmas time, and the Roque de los Muchachos Astrophysical Observatory, which offers breathtaking views of the night sky.

The Parador de Cruz de Tejeda is located at one of the highest points of Gran Canaria, 1,500 metres above sea level. From here, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the Tejeda caldera and, on clear days, even the Teide peak on the island of Tenerife. The Parador is surrounded by mountains and forests, offering a stunning natural setting.

The Parador is located near the village of Tejeda, known for its almond trees and traditional Canarian architecture. Hiking and climbing enthusiasts will find numerous routes to explore, including the popular route that leads from Tejeda to Roque Nublo, a natural monument almost 90 metres high.

Although Gran Canaria maintains a high level of tourism throughout the year, the Parador is far from the hustle and bustle, making it an ideal place to rest and relax after a day at the beach, on the road or on an excursion.

 

9. Parador de La Gomera

 

La Gomera is an enchanting island, known for its natural beauty and rich history. The island is home to the Garajonay National Park, a laurel forest that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In 2023 it received around 694,000 visitors, with the summer months being the busiest for Spanish tourists. But depending on the type of trip you are planning, spring and autumn are usually the best times to visit the island in terms of weather, tourism and activities. The weather is more pleasant, the crowds are smaller and you can enjoy the amazing scenery and many outdoor activities.

The Parador de La Gomera is located in San Sebastian de La Gomera, the island’s capital. This Parador is located on the top of a hill, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the island of Tenerife. The Parador building is in the Canarian style of the Columbian era, with wooden coffered ceilings and large courtyards full of vegetation.

The Parador's restaurant offers an excellent selection of Canarian dishes, including local fish and produce. In addition, the Parador has an outdoor swimming pool overlooking the ocean, tropical gardens and several common areas where guests can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.

 

10. Parador de Alarcón

 

Alarcón is a picturesque town in the province of Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha, well known for its charming medieval setting. The town overlooks the river Júcar from the top of one of its gorges, the Pico de los Hidalgos, offering superb views of the area.

The Parador de Alarcón is located in a castle with more than 13 centuries of history, considered the best preserved in the province of Cuenca. The castle of Alarcón, which dates back to what was probably a pre-Roman fortification, was converted into an Arab citadel and, from 1184, into a Christian stronghold.

Today, the castle is mainly in the Gothic style, with a Renaissance keep. The Parador combines modern and classical styles, with textiles accentuating the medieval character. The rooms are decorated with stone walls and ceilings, transporting guests back to medieval times.

The restaurant at the Parador de Alarcón offers traditional La Mancha regional cuisine, including dishes such as Manchego stew, morteruelo and pickled partridge, accompanied by La Mancha wines.

Alarcón and the Parador are an ideal destination for the unique experience of staying in a castle and being taken back to a bygone era. This is the charm that this Parador conveys and which makes it one of the most popular ones in the network.

 

11. Parador de Toledo

 

Toledo is a city that enchants tourists. Known as the "City of Three Cultures" for the historical coexistence of Christians, Muslims and Jews, Toledo offers a journey back in time through its narrow, cobbled streets and its spectacular Alcazar. Iconic monuments such as the Catedral Primada, the Synagogue of El Tránsito and the Mosque of Cristo de la Luz embody the city’s cultural diversity. Toledo is also famous for its handicrafts, especially its swords and damascene, and for its delicious gastronomy, with dishes such as marzipan and stewed partridge.

The city receives most of its visitors in spring and autumn, when the weather is more pleasant and the days are longer, allowing you to make the most of the city walks and visits to the monuments. However, Toledo is a popular tourist destination all year round due to its proximity to Madrid, which makes day trips easy.

The Parador de Toledo is an excellent choice of accommodation. Its location, set in an old Toledo-style country house on the Cigarrales hill, offers unrivalled panoramic views of the old town and its majestic cathedral.

The Parador’s restaurant is another of its attractions, as gives guests the opportunity to enjoy the cuisine of La Mancha, including traditional dishes such as roast lamb, suckling pig and, of course, Toledo marzipan.

Many of our customers who have visited the city without staying overnight have come to the Parador to enjoy its gastronomy. If you have not yet visited the Parador or dined at its restaurant, 2025 is a good year to do so.

 

12. Parador de Cádiz

 

Cadiz is a fascinating city with a rich history and vibrant culture. Known as the "Tacita de Plata" (silver cup) due to its coastal location and seafaring history, it is famous for its fine sandy beaches, historic architecture and vibrant cultural life.

Some of the main tourist attractions include the Barrio del Pópulo, considered the oldest town quarter in Europe, with narrow streets and historical monuments, Cadiz Cathedral, an impressive building with a blend of architectural styles, and the Roman Theatre, one of the oldest theatres in Hispania.

In addition, the Carnival of Cadiz is one of the most important and colourful festivals in Spain. Cadiz attracts a variety of tourists, including those interested in history, architecture and local traditions, those looking to enjoy the beaches and sunny weather, lovers of the local cuisine, especially the famous fried fish and marinated dogfish, and those who come to enjoy the Cadiz Carnival and other cultural festivals.

The Parador de Cádiz is one of our guests' favourites. It is modern, has stunning views of the bay and has a swimming pool and spa. Close to the Parador is the beach of La Caleta, next to the promenade. What more could you ask for?
