The wait has been worth it. In a unique setting, the first Parador in the Balearic Islands is born: the Parador de Ibiza, destined to become a new icon of the region. A place designed to stop time, connect with the essence of the surroundings and enjoy a memorable experience. With sales already underway and its opening set for 23 February, we are counting down the days to welcome our first guests on 10 March. Today we begin to discover it. Here is a first glimpse of what is to come.

The Parador de Ibiza will be the first Parador in the history of the Balearic Islands. Its opening will make it one of the jewels in the network's crown, joining the recently inaugurated Parador de Molina de Aragón (Guadalajara).

Its location could not be more emblematic, standing on a 16th-century fortress in the heart of Dalt Vila, the old town of Ibiza, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. An exceptional historical setting with panoramic views that promise an unforgettable experience.

The medieval Castle of Ibiza has witnessed numerous events that have marked the history of the island since its foundation. Archaeological excavations have brought to light valuable remains that are now part of the Parador project itself.

Thanks to an ambitious project to turn archaeological sites into museums, the future Parador will allow visitors to enjoy what has been termed "intra-heritage": visiting heritage sites (archaeological sites) within another larger heritage site (Ibiza Castle, in this case), all integrated into the walled enclosure of Dalt Vila.

Beyond its architectural and historical value, the Parador de Ibiza was created with a clear aim to revitalise the old town, promote interest in local history and culture, and attract cultural tourism that respects the environment and historical legacy.

Without a doubt, this project is set to become one of the island's leading hotels and cultural attractions.
