Nature activities and the Pyrenean mountains at the Parador de Bielsa
22 de June 2023

Are you looking for a nature activity for this spring? Do you want to get lost and disconnect in a unique place? We propose an authentic and exciting experience in the heart of the Huesca Pyrenees that will not disappoint. The Parador de Bielsa, a mountain refuge located at the gateway to Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, has a Nature for the Senses programme and offers activities for you to experience the treasures of the Pyrenees first-hand.

If you want to discover more about the way of life in the high mountains, try the "Pyrenean peaks" experience. You will be able to experience the daily chores of a high-altitude shepherd first-hand and learn about traditional husbandry and local breeds. All this while you enjoy the majesty of the Pineta Valley. This activity is available all year round and is of low difficulty.

If you are looking for something more relaxing to reconnect with yourself, "Forest bathing" is your option. In this experience you can get away from the hustle, the bustle of everyday life, and enter the Pyrenean forests to awaken your senses and feel in tune with your surroundings. This activity is also available all year round and is suitable for everyone (the Cornato forest has an accessible path for people with reduced mobility).

Paradores has taken a step forward in its commitment to sustainability with this Nature for the Senses project, which is already underway at its hotels in Cangas (Asturias), Bielsa (Huesca) and Villafranca del Bierzo (León). The Paradors of Gredos (Ávila) and Mazagón (Málaga) will soon join the programme. The programme aims to highlight the importance of biodiversity and the work of local producers in revitalising the areas where the Paradors are located.
