Here you can go hiking on trails such as the one that leads to the Álica lookout point or the route along Horcados Rojos, an impressive vertical wall almost 300 metres high that lies on the way up to the Cabaña Verónica hut.
You’ll find small fairy-tale mountain villages close to the Parador. Mogrovejo, just over 15 minutes away by car, is a beautiful rural village declared a Historical Site which retains the charm of passing time in buildings such as a late 12th-century tower or the Monastery of Santo Toribio. Don't miss a visit to Potes, the capital of the Liébana region, and its Torre del Infantado and the charming Old Quarter.
