The main attractions in Puebla de Sanabria is the Castle of the Counts of Benavente, one of the best-preserved castles in the province of Zamora. It stands on a hill, very near the Plaza Mayor square, and inside its restored interior you can visit a library and a cultural centre.
On the outskirts of Puebla de Sanabria is the Lake Sanabria Nature Reserve, the largest glacial lake of in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the largest in Europe, where impressive waterfalls are formed. You can take a dip in the lake or walk along its calm waters under spectacular sunsets.
