[email protected]The Parador de Úbeda was the first palace to be converted into a Parador. It was originally built as the residence of the chaplain of the funeral chapel of El Salvador and is located in a central square where it shares space with some of the city's most outstanding monuments. The building’s Renaissance architecture is notable for its façade and splendid central courtyard, which is one of the most beautiful in Úbeda. The large windows on the façade bathe the interior in light; its elegant rooms and majestic halls are fully equipped to hold meetings and events.
Úbeda was declared a World Heritage City thanks to its Renaissance-era historic buildings. A stroll through its historic quarter explains this title, which was awarded thanks to the wealth of heritage and history in its streets, palaces, churches and museums. The city is also rich in crafts, cuisine and Andalusian folklore. The title is shared with the city of Baeza, which is also noted for its Renaissance-era historic buildings and which is located just a few kilometres from Úbeda.
The Parador de Úbeda is also a good destination for nature lovers. The city is the gateway to the Cazorla, Segura y las Villas and Sierra Mágina natural parks.

Take advantage of the Paradores offers
Úbeda is known as the city of hills due to its location facing the Mágina mountain range, in the region of La Loma, the main olive oil producer in the area. Its main attraction is the beauty of its well-preserved Renaissance buildings and monuments. Its squares, the Palacio Vázquez de Molina and the Palacio Vela de los Cobos, the churches of San Pedro, San Lorenzo and Santa María, the Hospital de Santiago, the Clock Tower and the chapel of El Salvador are of particular interest. Also of great interest is the Synagogue of the Water, which is in the historic quarter.
A few kilometres from Úbeda is Baeza. Both were declared World Heritage Cities thanks to their Renaissance-era historic buildings. In Baeza, you must visit its Cathedral, the seminary of San Felipe Neri, the Palace of Jabalquinto, the Old University, the churches of Santa Cruz, San Andrés and El Salvador and the convent of San Francisco.
The city of Jaén is just 57 kilometres away and, if nature is your thing, be sure to visit to the Cazorla and Segura nature reserves.
