The Parador is located in the heart of the Teide National Park, more than 2,000 metres above sea level. It is an ideal place for lovers of nature, hiking, volcanology and astronomy. To admire the panoramic view of Las Cañadas you mustn’t miss the cable car ride, which leaves you about 160 metres from the crater. From there you can reach the Pico Viejo and La Fortaleza viewpoints. If you want to get to the top of the volcano you have to book a pass in advance since access is restricted. What´s more, there is a network of trails that you can enjoy on your own or with a guided tour.
Another of the must-do routes in Las Cañadas del Teide runs through the Roques de García. These are rock formations, which are very close to the Parador, and which are been eroded by the wind for thousands of years and have very curious shapes. There you´ll find one of the most distinctive of the island of Tenerife: The Cinchado rock with the Teide in the background.
The Teide National Park has species of fauna and flora that are found nowhere else.
If you go in spring, you can enjoy the spectacle of Las Cañadas dyed red by the Mount Teide buglosses in bloom.
Tenerife offers other attractions such as the beaches in the south of the island, scuba diving, the cliffs of Los Gigantes or the historic centres of San Cristobal de La Laguna, Puerto de la Cruz, La Orotava and Güímar.
