The Parador can be reached from the Santander-Comillas road by taking a cobbled street for about 100 meters. Then turn right and immediately after that, left. You will see the square where the Parador is located on your right.

The best regional cuisine in unique spaces
The main restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Parador Santillana Gil Blas, just a few meters away. The "El Jardín de Gil Blas" restaurant bases its culinary offerings on traditional Cantabrian cuisine, with a strong emphasis on locally sourced produce and some of the region's most emblematic specialties.
Santillana del Mar was declared a national monument thanks to having one of the richest historical and artistic heritages of any town in Spain. It is also one of the most unique towns in Cantabria, world famous for the prehistoric paintings of the Altamira Caves, considered the "Sistine Chapel" of cave art. Access to the paintings is currently restricted.
An exact replica of the cave can be seen in the Altamira National Museum and Interpretation Centre.

All of this in the heart of the historic centre of a unique town, moulded in stone and wood, just 25 km from Santander.
