Take advantage of the Paradores offers
Sos del Rey Católico, which has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site, is part of the Cinco Villas region, in the northwest of the province of Zaragoza and very close to Navarre. The best way to discover the town is to lose yourself in its cobbled streets, with its defensive wall and high walls, Gothic and Renaissance windows and period coats of arms. You mustn’t miss the Casa de la Villa (a sixteenth century Renaissance building), the hermitage of Santa Lucia (late twelfth century), the school Isidoro Gil de Jaz (eighteenth century) and the Jewish quarter, now known as the upper quarter.
Highlights of its surroundings include the monastery of Leyre, one of the most important monastic complexes in Spain, of Javier and Uncastillo castle, a perfectly preserved example of rural architecture in the Cinco Villas, which has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site.
One of the best times to visit Sos is March, when they celebrate the birth of King Ferdinand the Catholic.
You can enjoy the town decked out in its finest, historical re-enactments, concerts, theatrical performances and a Medieval market.
They also celebrate San Sebastian Bonfires on 20 January, and a craft fair in August.
Nestled at the northern end of the historic-monumental complex of Sos del Rey Católico and located next to the wall that envelops the town, this brand-new building fits perfectly into the town’s structure, which lends it its own identity, making it an ideal place for holding any event in an unbeatable setting.
