We truly enjoyed our stay — the hotel is beautiful and in a fantastic location. Overall, everything was wonderful, but there were two areas that detracted slightly from our experience and could benefit from improvement.
First, the service on the terrace was consistently slow. We sat there twice during our stay, and on both occasions, we waited over 30 minutes just for two glasses of wine. It was clear that the terrace is very popular with guests, and from what we observed, there simply weren’t enough servers to keep up with demand.
Second, the bedding was quite disappointing. The mattress was extremely firm, and the pillows were flat and lacked support. During this trip, we stayed at seven different hotels across Portugal, Spain, and France — and unfortunately, the bedding at your hotel was the least comfortable.
That said, we still loved the hotel and its charm. With just a few improvements in these areas, the experience would be elevated even further. Thank you again for a memorable stay!
Bonne surprise. Très bon emplacement. Personnel accueillant notamment celui du bar. Piscine et terrain de tennis très appréciables. Seul bémol : les horaires contraignants ( ex: piscine qui ouvre à 11h et bar qui ferme à 23h)
Lugar Maravilloso con mucho encanto Medieval Parador bien conservado.. pero el servicio de Restaurante y Bar un poco deficiente con Personal aparentemente sin experiencia y sin muchas ganas. La carta escueta y calidad Regular de elaboración. Una lástima.
This is a beautiful Parador and the service is great. However, we were not informed that the building was undergoing construction work. The noise started at 8am with banging sounds that woke the entire family. The pool area was partially closed and a lot of dust and falling rocks in the pool.
Although we understand that construction work may ve needed in historical buildings, we should have been informed of the situation before booking.
