Its huge windows let light flood in from all corners and give you views of a magnificent Andalusian landscape, with warm sunsets over the Antequera plain and rock formations such as the Peña de los Enamorados or Lovers’ Peak.
Antequera, which is situated at the main crossroads of Andalusia, is an ideal point from which to begin exploring this region. Antequera belongs to the province of Malaga, with its location at the main crossroads of Andalusia it is known as the "heart" of the autonomous region. Within its borders you can visit the Alcazaba and the Arch of the Giants, the City Museum (Palacio de Nájera), the Church of Santa María la Mayor, the Church of El Carmen, the Collegiate Church of San Sebastián and the Church of San Sebastián, and the dolmen complex (Menga, Viera and El Romeral).
But Antequera isn’t just monuments but also nature, with splendid landscapes such as the fertile Vega or El Torcal (12 km), an amazing karst landscape that takes us back millions of years to the planet’s history. This is also an exclusive place from which to discover the universe, as it has a modern astronomical observatory with activities for visitors throughout the year.
Other nearby routes are Archidona (8 km), the Fuente de Piedra (20 km), the Caminito del Rey (40 km), and Malaga (57 km), where you can visit the Picasso Birthplace Museum, the Russian Museum Collection and the Pompidou Museum. Tickets for all three museums can be purchased at the Parador.
If sport is more to your liking, Antequera offers you the possibility of cycling, rock climbing, horse riding, paragliding, swimming and golf (8 km).
