Parador de Tordesillas

Works carried out at the Parador de Tordesillas

The Parador de Tordesillas closed its doors in September 2024 to undergo the necessary renovations to offer its guests a more modern, comfortable, and sustainable experience. Following a period of closure for improvements, the Parador de Tordesillas reopened its doors on January 17, 2025.

Actions by Paradores

During this renovation period, a series of projects have been carried out that have completely transformed the Parador, improving both its infrastructure and its ambiance:

Pipe replacement to improve system efficiency and performance:

The entire piping system has been replaced to improve its efficiency and performance, ensuring greater reliability in the Parador's systems.

Improvements to the decoration of 38 rooms and common areas:

The rooms and common areas have been renovated to offer a more modern and welcoming atmosphere, where every corner is designed for guest comfort.

Renovation of the spa area:

The wellness area has been completely renovated, with new facilities and services to offer a more relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Acquisition of artistic work:

To enrich the surroundings and give them a unique touch, a work of art has been acquired that personalizes and adds character to the Parador.

Access and parking improvements:

The Parador's street and parking lot have been paved, facilitating access and comfort for our visitors.

Paradores' actions with PRTR funds focused on energy efficiency:

Thanks to the PRTR (Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan) funds, several initiatives focused on energy efficiency have been implemented, reaffirming Paradores' commitment to sustainability.

Roof upgrade and solar panel installation:

The Parador's roof has been renovated, and solar panels have been installed to improve insulation and reduce energy consumption, helping to make the Parador a more environmentally friendly place.

Installation of a biomass boiler:

In support of greener energy, a biomass boiler has been installed, reducing the carbon footprint and contributing to a more sustainable future.

Savings data with energy efficiency measures:

- Comparing consumption in February 2024 (using diesel) with that in February 2025 (using biomass), the energy savings were 50%.

- In February 2025 alone, the Parador de Tordesillas achieved savings of €5,500.

- Thanks to these improvements, the Parador de Tordesillas has achieved an A energy rating, becoming the first Parador in the network to achieve this recognition for its efficient energy consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.

- With all these renovations and improvements, the Parador de Tordesillas not only offers a more modern and comfortable experience, but also positions itself as a benchmark in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency.

Parador de Limpias

Works carried out at the Parador de Limpias

In October 2024, the Parador de Limpias closed its doors to undergo a series of renovations designed to improve its infrastructure and offer our guests a more modern, comfortable, and efficient experience. Following this renovation, the Parador reopened its doors in April 2025, ready to welcome you with the best conditions and a renewed touch.

Complete Renovation of the Building's Plumbing:

The entire building's plumbing system has been updated, which not only improves the efficiency of the systems but also ensures a more modern and reliable infrastructure.

Updating the HVAC Systems:

To ensure a more pleasant environment, new fan coil units and a BMS control system have been installed, which optimizes HVAC management and reduces energy consumption.

Renovation of Exterior Woodwork:

The renovation of the windows and exterior enclosures aims to improve the Parador's thermal and acoustic insulation, offering greater comfort to our guests and reducing energy consumption.

Elevator Replacement:

To improve accessibility for all our guests, we have replaced two elevators, making it easier to move around the Parador, especially for people with reduced mobility.

Improvements to sports facilities:

The tennis and paddle tennis courts have been transformed into a multi-sport court, allowing us to offer a wider variety of sports activities for our guests to enjoy during their stay.

Installation of a new fire protection system:

As part of our commitment to safety, we have installed a state-of-the-art fire protection system to ensure the peace of mind and well-being of our guests.

Decoration project:

A comprehensive decoration project has been carried out to renovate and modernize the spaces, creating a warmer, more welcoming, and attractive environment for all our visitors.

Parador de Cardona

Works carried out at the Parador de Cardona

The Parador de Cardona, an architectural gem with centuries of history, closed its doors in July 2024 to undergo a series of renovations that have modernized its facilities, improved accessibility, and strengthened its sustainability, without losing an ounce of its historic essence. Following this renovation process, the Parador reopened on May 1, 2025.

Comprehensive Roof Renovation:

Extensive work has been done on the Parador's roofs, ensuring their durability and improving the building's protection against inclement weather.

Replacing Exterior Woodwork:

All of the building's exterior woodwork has been replaced, not only to improve the Parador's appearance but also to optimize thermal insulation, thereby reducing energy consumption and providing a more comfortable interior environment.

Bathroom Renovations:

Several Parador bathrooms have undergone significant renovations, replacing bathtubs with showers. This measure reflects our commitment to accessibility, seeking to facilitate access and comfort for all our guests.

Installation of New Elevators:

To ensure full accessibility to all floors of the Parador, two new elevators have been installed, improving movement within the building.

Improved Connectivity and Security:

The entire Wi-Fi network has been upgraded, providing greater speed and coverage. In addition, we have implemented a video surveillance system to increase the security of all those who visit and stay at the Parador.

Actions by Turespaña:

The Parador de Cardona has not only been renovated in terms of infrastructure and comfort, but its historical and architectural value has also been meticulously maintained. Turespaña has carried out a series of interventions to restore and preserve the building's heritage:

Restoration of stone elements and cleaning of facades:

The building's stone elements have been carefully restored, while the courtyard facades have been cleaned to highlight their historical beauty.

Rehabilitation of walls and pavements:

Partial interventions have been carried out on the gallery walls and the pavements have been rehabilitated to ensure the structural integrity of the Parador.

Electrical installations:

The electrical installations have been modernized to guarantee an efficient and safe supply, adapting to current needs.

Efficient monumental lighting:

A monumental lighting system has been installed with energy-efficient criteria, highlighting the majesty of the Parador while reducing environmental impacts.

Improvements to the roof drainage system:

The roofs have also received improvements to their drainage systems to prevent leaks and ensure their durability.

Parador de Sigüenza

Works carried out at the Parador de Sigüenza

The Parador de Sigüenza remained closed from October 14, 2024, to May 8, 2025, but is undergoing renovations until August 2025.

In this medieval corner steeped in history, the Parador de Sigüenza is moving forward with a series of improvements that combine modernity, efficiency, and respect for its unique charm.

Renovated kitchen to continue pampering your palate:

We have carried out a comprehensive renovation of the main kitchen, updating the equipment to ensure maximum quality and efficiency in the preparation of our dishes, always preserving traditional flavors.

More sustainability and comfort:

The boiler room has been completely renovated and now runs on natural gas, a cleaner and more efficient energy source. In addition, the air conditioning systems (fan coils and chiller) have been replaced, and a new energy management system has been implemented, optimizing consumption and improving comfort throughout the Parador.

Renovated Bathrooms for Your Well-Being:

Twenty-one guestroom bathrooms have been renovated, including one adapted bathroom, as well as the public bathrooms, ensuring more comfortable, accessible, and modern spaces without losing the building's character.

A New Ambience Thanks to the Redecoration:

In addition, we have improved the lighting in the common areas, hallways, and bedrooms, and renovated the interior and exterior woodwork to bring warmth and freshness to each space.

Comprehensive Care in Every Detail:

To complete the renovation, all remaining bathrooms have been renovated, ensuring that every corner lives up to your experience.

Savings data with energy efficiency measures:

Less Consumption, More Savings:

With this improvement, energy consumption for heating is reduced by more than 25%, which translates into savings of more than 60% on the heating bill.

Less Emissions, More Life for the Planet:

By switching from diesel to natural gas, we reduced CO₂ emissions by 52%. This is equivalent to avoiding 200 tons of CO₂ emissions, the same as planting around 350 trees!

With these improvements, the Parador de Sigüenza is preparing to continue offering you a stay where history, comfort, and sustainability go hand in hand.

Parador de Cáceres

Work to be done at the Parador de Cáceres

The Parador de Cáceres closed its doors in January 2025 to undertake the necessary renovations to improve the building. Its closure is expected to end in June 2025.

In the heart of Cáceres' historic center, surrounded by Renaissance palaces and cobblestone streets, the Parador de Cáceres is moving forward with small, major improvements that allow us to continue taking care of both the building and those who visit and work there.

Actions by Paradores

A new automatic door for greater comfort and accessibility:

We have replaced the old swing glass door with a more efficient automatic door, which facilitates access to the building and significantly improves the interior air conditioning. This change not only modernizes the main entrance but also solves the sealing problems that were causing temperature loss, thus contributing to our guests' comfort and energy savings.

Greater safety on the building's roofs:

In order to comply with current regulations and ensure safer working environments, we have installed lifelines on all roofs and in the skylight areas of the courtyards. These structures allow future maintenance work to be carried out at height in complete safety, protecting both workers and the integrity of the building.

Actions by Turespaña

The 16th-century tower, a new space to discover:

We are renovating this iconic tower so that you can soon visit two historic rooms and climb to its roof, which will become a viewing point with privileged views of the city. A unique experience to contemplate Cáceres from another perspective.

We are caring for the old cisterns and unique spaces:

The Parador has four courtyards, three of them covered, beneath which are historic cisterns that we are now locating and conserving. To protect the building, we are working on the subsoil of these courtyards and adjoining rooms affected by damp, lifting pavements and creating new ventilated slabs that will help keep the building in perfect condition.

Restored and clean facades, a reflection of our commitment:

In addition, the facades are being cleaned and restored, dampness is being corrected, and small damaged areas are being repaired to preserve the building's beauty and solidity. Every detail counts to ensure the Parador continues to shine with its historic essence.

With these actions, we want the history of the Parador de Cáceres to not only be preserved, but also to be experienced and enjoyed by all, combining heritage, comfort, and respect for the environment.

Parador de Vic

Work to be carried out at Parador de Vic

The Parador de Vic-Sau was closed from January 2025 until the end of May 2025 to undertake the necessary renovations to improve the building.

At Paradores, taking care of every detail is part of our approach to hospitality. That's why the Parador de Vic-Sau, surrounded by the spectacular landscape of the Sau reservoir, has undergone small but important improvements that enhance its comfort, safety, and beauty.

Rooms and kitchen with new flooring:
We have replaced the flooring in the rooms and kitchen to renew their appearance and improve functionality, both for our guests and for the team who work every day to ensure everything is perfect.

Connection to the new water network:
Specialized technical assistance has been provided to connect the Parador to a more efficient and sustainable water supply network, thus ensuring better service and greater reliability.

Cold Storage with Full Guarantees:
The modernization of the cold storage has also been completed, ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations.

New Decor Project on the Ground Floor:
The Parador's ground floor boasts a refreshed look thanks to a decor project that brings warmth, style, and harmony with the natural surroundings.

Every step, no matter how small, helps ensure that the Parador de Vic-Sau continues to be that peaceful, welcoming, and charming place you'll always want to return to.

Parador de Bielsa

Work to be done at the Parador de Bielsa

The Parador de Bielsa closed its doors in January 2025 to undertake the necessary renovations to improve the building. Its closure is expected until July 2025.

At the foot of the imposing Monte Perdido, in the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees, the Parador de Bielsa is a privileged place to connect with nature. And now, also, to enjoy an even more comfortable and environmentally friendly experience, thanks to the improvements we are implementing.

Commitment to the environment: new biomass boiler
We have replaced the heating system with a biomass boiler, a sustainable solution that reduces emissions and utilizes natural resources, as part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (PRTR). Because in a natural environment like this, caring for the planet is an essential part of our way of working.

Renovated rooms for your relaxation:
We are renovating our rooms so you can enjoy more comfortable, cozy, and modern stays, without losing the rustic charm and warmth that characterize the Parador.

Improved common areas:
The floors, windows, and door of the well-known Mountaineers' Room have also been renovated, one of the Parador's most special corners, where many travelers share their adventures and plans in the mountains.

A new lease of life with the comprehensive decoration project:
The Parador will debut a completely renovated decoration, designed to enhance its connection with the landscape and offer you an even more aesthetic, harmonious, and immersive experience.

With each improvement, the Parador de Bielsa continues to be that mountain refuge where comfort, sustainability, and natural beauty go hand in hand.

Parador de Cuenca

Work to be carried out at the Parador de Cuenca

The Parador de Cuenca closed its doors in January 2025 and is scheduled to remain closed until July 2025 to undertake the necessary renovations to improve the building.

At Paradores, we believe that caring for our heritage also means caring for you. That's why the Parador de Cuenca, located in a former convent with privileged views of the Hanging Houses, is undergoing several improvements that enhance its safety, functionality, and beauty, without losing any of its charm.

Reinforced Security in the Parking Area:
Work has been carried out to repair the dampness caused by a small rockfall that affected the structure in the parking area. This work guarantees stability and comfort from the moment you arrive.

Study and Resolution of Building Problems:
We are working with specialized technical assistance to resolve a construction deficiency located in one of the Parador's rooms. This is a necessary step to keep the building in perfect condition.

A breath of fresh air for the common areas:
Thanks to a comprehensive decoration project, we will renew the style of the common areas and bedrooms, respecting their historic character but providing freshness, warmth, and harmony.

More art for a place with soul:
The Parador will incorporate new artwork, adding culture and beauty to the surroundings. Because we believe that every detail counts to make your stay a cultural experience.

Modernization of technical facilities:
The engine room is also planned to be renovated, improving the energy efficiency and performance of the facilities, all without interfering with the Parador's daily operations.

We are restoring this architectural gem so that you will soon be able to access two historic rooms and, as a finishing touch, enjoy its rooftop, now a viewing platform. A new way to admire the city of Cuenca and its landscapes from a unique location steeped in history.

We are restoring the old cisterns in the courtyards:
The Parador has four courtyards, three of them covered, beneath which are hidden old cisterns that we are now locating and refurbishing. In addition, work is being carried out on the subsoil of rooms affected by damp, with the renovation of flooring and the installation of ventilated slabs, which will improve the building's long-term preservation.

Cleaner, stronger, and more well-maintained facades:
We are also carrying out a general cleaning of the facades, eliminating rising damp, correcting damage to window frames, and repairing deteriorated areas. All with care, respecting the original materials and the character of the building.

Parador de Vielha

Structural and Functional Improvements:
We have renovated roofs, flooring, and technical areas to ensure the safety, accessibility, and efficiency of all spaces: from the kitchen and spa to the exterior pathways, the entrance ramp, and the vendor areas.

More welcoming spaces for everyone:
The rooms and common areas have been updated with new decor, carpets, and terrace furniture. Everything has been designed to offer you a more comfortable, warm, and modern stay.

Comfort and well-being, even in the details
From waterproofing key terraces such as the dining room and reception area, to installing a dehumidifier in the spa to ensure an optimal environment, every step contributes to ensuring you fully enjoy every corner of the Parador.

Keeping track of what's important:
The cold storage rooms have also been modernized to ensure the proper functioning of our restaurant facilities, always with the utmost safety.

Parador de Jarandilla de la Vera

The rooms in the oldest part of the Parador have had their bathtubs replaced with modern, comfortable, and safe showers, facilitating daily use for all our guests.

Renovation of the Piping and Boiler System:
We have improved the Parador's efficiency and thermal comfort, ensuring better air conditioning and hot water supply throughout the building.

New Comprehensive Decoration Project:
The Parador debuts a more modern, bright, and welcoming look, maintaining its historic charm while updating its spaces with a fresh and elegant touch.

Handcrafted with Soul:
We have incorporated new handcrafted pieces that reflect the cultural richness of the area, bringing character and authenticity to the common areas and rooms.

Small changes that make a big difference, designed to make you feel even more at ease every time you return.

Actions by Turespaña

The project will be carried out in different parts of the Parador, including the façades, the parade ground, the northwest tower, the wall, and the moat.

Rehabilitation of the Parade Ground:
It will be completely renovated to make it more comfortable and accessible. The façades will be restored, the water drainage system will be improved, and the pavement will be restructured to facilitate visitor access.

Opening of the Northwest Tower to the Public:
One of the castle towers, previously closed, will be restored so that everyone can visit it. Its structure will be repaired, its interior will be adapted, and safe access will be created so you can explore the interior.

Restoration of the Historic Access and Exterior Route:
We will reopen the old castle moat and restore the perimeter path, allowing you to walk around the Parador as it was done centuries ago. In addition, the original walls will be preserved and cleaned, and the access points will be improved.

Monumental Lighting and Starlight Certification:
New lighting will be installed to enhance the building's beauty at dusk, highlighting historic elements such as towers, coat of arms, and the courtyard fountain. In addition, Starlight certification will be sought to transform the Parador into a privileged place to enjoy the starry sky.

Conservation Master Plan:
Given that this is a Site of Cultural Interest, a long-term plan has been designed to ensure its good condition and protection for years to come.

These works, sponsored by Turespaña, will have an estimated duration of 20 months and represent a great opportunity to continue offering our guests unique experiences in places steeped in history… now with even more charm.
