Help us save water during your stay at the Parador
Did you know that if you reduce your shower time to less than five minutes, you are helping to save the planet? We know that when you visit a Parador, you want to enjoy yourself without regrets and we want to keep it that way, now and in the future.
With very simple but effective measures, you can help us to make responsible use of this precious resource in our hotels. We would also like you to know that at Paradores, we’re working to make every drop count:
- • We monitor water consumption on a daily basis to detect hidden leaks.
- • Our Paradores have water-saving equipment: aerators on taps, dual flush valves, thermostatic taps and variable speed irrigation pressure groups.
- • We study our water footprint.
- • We are members of the StepbyWater alliance.
What can I do to save water?
At Paradores, we strive to provide you with exceptional experiences while caring for the environment around us. We encourage you to use water responsibly with the following measures, which you can apply during your stay:
A shower instead of a bath
If it’s not essential, opt for a shower rather than a bath for your daily wash. Remember, if you shower for less than five minutes, you're giving the planet and the environment around you a break. It gives you time to sing your favourite song!
Turn off the tap whenever possible
While brushing your teeth, shaving, or washing your hands.
Use the dual flush of the toilet
Use the short flush of the toilet whenever possible. This helps save a lot of water every day.
Don't use the toilet as a bin
There are waste paper baskets in all our bathrooms for throwing out paper and other waste. Don't waste water flushes unnecessarily. Each flush can save 6 to 10 litres of water.
Reuse towels whenever possible
Use only the number of towels needed and don't leave towels on the floor or in the bathtub that could be used again. Use towel and bathrobe hangers.
Our alliance for a greener future
Paradores collaborates with the StepbyWater initiative, a multisectoral alliance made up of public and private organisations and civil society that seeks to raise awareness about the proper use of water resources and fight against the desertification of the planet. These small changes in our daily routine can make a difference and help preserve water for future generations. Let's take care of our planet together and avoid wasting water!
