A local song starts with the words “at the feet of one hundred mountains that rise all around”, and this is the case with the town of Cangas de Narcea, just two kilometres away from the Parador. The best way to discover it is to wander through its stone paved streets, full of mansion houses, palaces and churches, a reflection of the lineage of the first Asturian kings. The traditional beauty of the region combines beautiful typical buildings such as the Molino de Villajur and monuments such as the Sanctuary of the Virgen del Acebo, one of the Marian churches of Asturias.

 

More than anything, Cangas de Narcea is a natural paradise. The old stables of the Monastery of Corias are home to the Centre of the Natural Park of Fuentes del Narcea, Degaña e Ibias, where you’ll find a starting point for all kinds of hiking and adventure activities in the magical place. You shouldn’t miss the Natural Reserve of the Forest of Muniellos, the largest oak forest in Spain, where brown bears and grouse – emblems of the regional fauna – can be found. Cangas del Narcea is also the home of D.O. Cangas wine, with a wine museum, cellars and vineyards open to visitors.

The Parador de Ciudad Rodrigo stands on a high point looking over the river, from where visitors can admire the beauty of the buildings in the city. The best way to discover it is to wander through the historical quarter, where you’ll be surrounded by beautiful churches, palaces, aristocratic town houses and the cathedral. Not to be missed. The region of Ciudad Rodrigo has things to do and see for everyone. Interested in culture? Salamanca is close to the Parador and well worth a visit, you could take a trip along the Frontier Castles Route, or discover the rock are of the “Siega Verde” Archaeological Zone. What to do in Parador de Tordesillas

Tordesillas was the seat of the royal court and the prison which held Queen Juana I of Castile, daughter of the Catholic Monarchs, who was locked in the town when she died. The city has a rich historical heritage that you can discover by visiting the Casas del Tratado, the Royal Monastery of Santa Clara, the Museum of San Antolin and its bridge and the wall Also of interest are the Lantern and Lace museums.

History and tradition. The spectacular setting of Ronda invites the visitor to take it easy and wander around the city to enjoy its Moorish heritage on the south bank of the Guadalevín, then cross the emblematic Puente Nuevo and walk along the leafy avenues of the Alameda del Tajo until you come to the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería. One the way, you’ll be amazed by beautiful buildings such as the palaces of Mondragón and Salvatierra. The beauty of Ronda extends much further out into its surroundings. Just a short distance away you can explore the Roman heritage of the region at ancient Acinipo or follow the Route of the White Villages of Cadiz and discover some of the most beautiful places in the region. If you’re a nature lover, you can also set off for the natural parks of the Sierra de las Nieves, the Sierra de Grazalema and Los Alcornocales, and fans of motorcycling shouldn’t miss the chance to ride on the famous circuit of Ascari.

What to do in Parador de Málaga Golf

The cultural and leisure facilities of Malaga are only ten kilometres from the Parador. 
A visit to the Picasso Museum is a must. Here, more than 200 works by the painter from Malaga, recognized as one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century, are on display. 
Other places of interest include the Alcazaba, a fortress palace of great beauty; Gibralfaro Castle, a fortress that served as a temporary residence for Ferdinand the Catholic after the Reconquest; the Cathedral and the Roman Theatre.


What to do in Parador de Ceuta

Ceuta can be reached by land, sea and air. Its Mediterranean climate means that both summers and winters are mild, making it the perfect destination for any time of the year. Its long coastline gives you the chance to practise water sports such as scuba diving or snorkelling, kayaking or sport fishing, among others. The Castle of Monterrei occupies a privileged position, dominating the valley of the river Támega and the frontier between Spain and Portugal. The best way to discover the surroundings is to join one of the guided tours that take you through the castle complex, or head off to the nearby town of Verín, whose old quarter is full of surprises such as the Casa del Escudo and the Chapel of San Lázaro. Another surprise just 3 kilometres away from the Parador is the Church of Santa María de Mixós, which dates back to the 10rh century. Monterrei also offers unique experiences for all tastes. If you’re a culture lover, you’ll find historical routes such as the Way of St James and the Vía de la Plata, or the largest number of hórreos (traditional grain stores) in Galicia at the village of A Merca. If you want to visit Portugal, one option is the Thermal Water Route, which passes through the beautiful villages of Chaves and Vidago. And if you love nature, the O Invernadeiro Nature Park, one of the hidden jewels of Galicia, is less than an hour away.
