The Parador de Cervera de Pisuerga is located in the Fuentes Carrionas Reserve, north of the province of Palencia. This is a natural spot of unique splendour and the refuge of the brown bear, just two kilometres away from the town of Cervera de Pisuerga, in the heart of the mountains of Palencia. The hotel has spectacular views of the Ruesga Reservoir, a park and children's play area, football pitch, games room and a currency exchange facility.

Cervera de Pisuerga is a strategic entry point to the Cantabrian Mountain Range, a place of unspoilt nature that offers trails such as the Roblón de Estalava to visit El Abuelo (The Grandfather) , a venerable oak tree of extraordinary longevity, or the thousand-year-old yews of La Tejada de Tosande. If you’re travelling with children, you’ll love the Adventure Park of El Robledal del Oso, a fun and original way to visit a natural environment through sporting and recreational routes.

Art lovers will find splendid examples of Romanesque art in the area, such as the monastery of Santa María La Real in Aguilar de Campo, the church of San Juan de Moarves de Ojeda or the cave church of Olleros de Pisuerga.

    The Natural Park of Fuentes Carrionas y Fuente Cobre offers countless trails for hiking enthusiasts. The Ruta del Roblón de Estalava to the impressive oak tree christened El Abuelo for its extraordinary longevity, the Ruta de la Tejada de Tosande and its thousand-year-old yews that are five or six metres high, and the Ruta Senda del Bosque Fósil, a trail that runs along the floor of a forest that existed 300 million years ago, are some unique options.

    Cervera de Pisuerga is an ideal family destination. Children will love the path that leads to the Mazobre waterfall, a spectacular spot from which to contemplate the descending water.     There are great examples of Palencia’s Romanesque art near Cervera de Pisuerga, in the towns of Aguilar de Campoo, Olleros de Pisuerga, and Moarves de Ojeda which holds the most impressive frieze in Spain, perfectly preserved, in the small church of San Juan. If your tastes run more to Roman art, the Archaeological Museum of the Roman Villa La Olmeda has some impressive exhibits.
