The gateway to the White Villages of Andalusia
Parador de Arcos de la Frontera

The former Casa del Corregidor is today the Parador de Arcos de la Frontera. An exclusive viewpoint that looks out over the Guadalete river from the best location in town: next to the Plaza de España and the convent of the Mercedarias nuns. This atmosphere of southern architecture is also visible in the Parador. An Andalusian patio in the centre of the hotel distributes the Andalusian light and weather throughout the rooms, lounge and dining room.

Patio del Parador de Arcos de la Frontera

The hotel’s idyllic location makes it one of the best options for enjoying the tourist attractions of Arcos de la Frontera, one of the most visited places in the province. Steep cobbled streets take you to the old quarter, declared a National Historical-Artistic Monument and considered one of the most beautiful in Andalusia. Be sure to visit the Church of San Pedro and the Church of Santa María de la Asunción, both dating back to the 15th century.

This area is rich in wine. You can visit several wineries and vineyards, and taste exquisite wines. If you’re keen on sports, and especially adventure sports, you can go caving, hiking, canyoning, free flying, paragliding or cycle touring. Another great option is a visit to Lago de Arcos, where canoes and sailing boats share the waters with the birds that come here to winter.

The Parador, formerly the Casa del Corregidor, is located in the middle of the Plaza del Cabildo, which also houses the Town Hall and the Ducal Castle, an Islamic fortress rebuilt in the 15th century.

There are also several tourist routes to explore the surrounding area. In addition to the aforementioned Route of the White Villages, the Route of the Bull, the Wine Route, the Route of the Coast and the Route of the Roman Cities are equally attractive options.
