Day 1: Culture and cheese
If you love cheese, especially Manchego cheese, you absolutely must stop at the Museum of Cheese. You will learn everything you need to know to identify excellent designation of origin cheeses. And if you're a fan of fashion, be sure to visit the Manuel Piña Museumb vvvv hgb. This La Mancha designer was a key element of the fashion world from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. Don't miss the chance to see Manzanares Castle, Pilas Bonas. A true gift for the senses. Plaza de la Constitución is home to Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Parish Church, an architectural complex of such beauty that it well deserves a visit.
After a day of culture, we recommend dinner at the Parador restaurant. There are two perfect dining rooms, pick your favorite! You'll need to recharge for the following day, because you'll be doing quite a bit of walking. May we offer a word of advice? The entire menu is delicious, but you definitely can't leave without sampling the roast lamb with thyme, stewed partridge with grape sauce and duelos y quebrantos del buen Sancho (eggs and sausage). A joy for the palate!
Day 2: Tablas de Daimiel National Park
This nature reserve is one-of-a-kind...an absolute must-see for anyone visiting Manzanares. It's the smallest national park in Spain, but don't let that fool you. It's spectacular! It can host up to 250 different species of waterfowl, depending on the time of year. Don't forget your camera, you'll need it!
